About

Hi, my name is Sven Axel Bischoff, Sven in general. I was born in 1990 near the Harz mountains.

Most of my youth I was tinkering with computer technology of which I understood nothing at that time. Fascinated by technology and its possibilities I studied 'Medieninformatik' at the Harz University of Applied Sciences beginning in 2010. Here I graduated as a 'Bachelor of Science' in 2015.

My fascination for photography started around 16 when I started taking photographs with my Motorola V3i. After finishing my A-level I bought my first camera, a Canon EOS 450D. At the same time I started shooting so called 'Lost Places' and soon expanded in portraits and studio photography at my university.

If I would be asked what time or style of photography is the most interesting for me and which photographers I like, I'd name the new New Objectivity and the work of some more known scholars of 'Bernd and Hilla Becher' like Thomas Ruff and Andreas Gursky. But also Henri Cartier Bresson, the life and work of Robert Capa and the Magnum agency in general is really interesting for me.

Some of my favourite books related to photography are...

Still, I'm an amateur, but I'm not a dilettante anymore.
- Henri Cartier-Bresson

Photography is a passion, but not my profession, so I make money working as a 'IT Team Lead Softwaredevelopment' at Invia Travel Germany GmbH, where I'm responsible for ab-in-den-urlaub.de and several other whitelabel portals.

You can find additional information, like social media profiles and several other information on my homepage.
